FAQ

> What is Anonymice?

Anonymice is a collection of 3550, 100% on-chain generative NFTs. This means all Anonymice data is stored entirely on the Ethereum blockchain. Whereas other projects relying on IPFS and APIs are susceptible to disappearing, Anonymice will persist into eternity.

> Why should I use this marketplace over OpenSea?

OpenSea charges an additional 2.5% royalty on top of the existing 5% collection royalty. Anonymice Marketplace only charges the 5% collection royalty fee, allowing our users to keep that extra 2.5% of their sale. At the prices Mice typically sell for, this ends up being an appreciable amount saved.

> How does the user experience differ from OpenSea?

Due to OpenSea's centralized nature, they are capable of offering things certain things for free, such as lowering a listing's price. As we are completely decentralized, users must pay gas for every contract interaction they complete, including lowering the price of a listing.

> How many Mice are available to own?

While OpenSea lists 10000 items in the collection, only 3550 are available to own due to the unique burn-to-mint mechanic employed by the project. The rest, while still visible, are stored in an inaccessible burn address and effectively unavailable.

> What can I do with my Mice?

Currently, all Genesis Mice can be staked to earn one $CHEETH per day. $CHEETH is a utility token used within the Mice ecosystem. Owners can also stake two Genesis Mice in a separate breeding contract to create Baby Mice with traits linked to their parents. Owning a Genesis or Baby also gives access to private Discord channels, including #mice-alpha for high-quality NFT information. Additional utility is constantly being added for Mice.

> How is the holder count calculated?

Because the $CHEETH, breeding, and marketplace contracts take temporary possession of mice, these addresses are linked to thousands of Mice. Typically, over 90% of all mice are held in one of these contracts at any given time, resulting in a misleadlingly low owner count on OpenSea. Thus, we use a custom script to calculate the true number of owners, which can be found here: Holder Calculation.

> What is an "OG" Anonymice?

An OG Anonymice is any Genesis Mice with an ID less than 2000. These Mice were the only ones mintable for free; the rest were minted with $CHEETH earned by staking Mice. OG Mice offer a slight advantage in breeding babies with rare traits.

> Where can I see the Mice that were burned during minting??

All burned Mice are visible in the burn address. The lineages of all the Mice that trace which Mice were minted from each burn can be explored at Anonymice Bloodlines and Anonymice Graveyard.

> Where can I find more resources?

A community member set up a website with various Mice resources.
Our Discord is also a great place to ask questions.
